Rescued Audio Theatre
Before I get into the review let me give credit where credit is due. If it were not for our listener Carlton, I would probably not be writing this review. Carlton emailed us to let us know about the John Bevere dramas many months ago and I am very grateful that he did. Thanks Carlton!

Rescued Audio Theatre
by John Bevere of Messenger International

Rescued is an extremely captivating drama that holds your attention from the very beginning. The production quality is top notch which is no surprise considering the fact that the team consists of professionals like John Fornof, Allen Hurley, and Mark Drury. The music composition by John Campbell is superb. The acting in this drama, which contains several very intense scenes, is absolutely stellar.

The story is fascinating and has a powerful message. It was adapted for audio by John Fornof from the novel by John Bevere of the same title. The plot is centered around Alan Rockaway (Townsend Coleman*), who is the pastor of a large church in Colorado, his son, Jeff (Michael Yurchak**), and his wife, Jenny (Marisol Nichols). The drama opens with Alan, Jenny, and Jeff on a Caribbean cruise with members of their church. As they prepare to go on a submarine ride, a terrible accident occurs which tosses each life into the hands of fate.

Townsend Coleman does a fantastic job of bringing the character of Alan to life. He takes on the part well and is very believable in the lead role. Michael Yurchak's performance is great as well; he portrays Jeff as a very likeable character that is easy to relate to. Each actor in the cast seems to have been well-chosen for the parts and each one fills his/her part very well. Other names that might be familiar to audio drama fans are Jim Custer and John Rhys-Davies.

This 2 hour and 15 minute audio drama is one that will have you spellbound and will also incite you to examine your own life. The messages and themes that are addressed in this story are serious and will have life changing affect. Each element of the production from acting to music to sound effects are woven together into one masterpiece that will be a profound experience for the listener. Due to some of the subject matter covered in this drama we would not recommend it for young children.

In conclusion, I wholeheartedly suggest that you listen to the Rescued audio drama. Although I do not agree with all of the theological positions stated in this production, I do believe in its overarching message. I'd also like to note that I have not read the book upon which this drama was based so I cannot comment on whether or not it maintained the original content of the story.
